Gorinto (five-ringed tower) made with one stone
A gorinto (five-ringed tower) made with one stone, excavated from the Nagahama Castle Ruins in 1969. A gorinto made with one stone is used for memorial services and gravestones. It has been confirmed with Himeji Castle and other castles that the stone materials for a stone Buddha and gorinto were used for stone walls when building a castle. This material was presumably also used for the stone walls of Nagahama Castle. We do not know if this is from the Nagahama Castle of Hideyoshi’s era, but it is regardless a valuable artifact of Nagahama Castle.
