・Closed on Mondays. If Monday is a public holiday, the museum will be open on that day and closed on the next day.

・The Museum is also closed during the year-end and New Year’s Day holidays (December 27 - January 2).

・The entire museum may be closed temporarily, or some areas may be closed although the museum itself is open, to allow for exhibition changes, etc.

Temporary closures when official warnings are in effect: The Museum may be closed temporarily if there are "special warnings, including heavy rain, wind storms, heavy snow, etc." or "warnings including severe wind storms" in effect.

Explanation of the exhibition

The "Nagahama Castle Volunteers” provide guided tours of the Museum. These are regularly scheduled only on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Please contact the Museum office in advance if you would like a guided tour on a weekday.

For the comfort of all visitors and for the protection of the exhibits, please observe these precautions:

・Please do not take photographs of any exhibits. Do not eat or drink while in the Museum.

・Smoking is not permitted in the Museum.

・Pets are not allowed in the Museum, (except for guide dogs and service dogs).

・Please do not take photographs of any exhibits.

※ We have a special Group Rate for 20 or more people who come as a group. (The Group Rate only applies if a representative of the group takes responsibility for collecting and paying the entire group’s admission fees.)

※People who have a record book for a physical disability, special education, or benefits for those with mental health designations, may enter the Museum with their attendants, free of charge. (It is necessary to present the record book or Mirairo ID to demonstrate eligibility.)

※ Students attending elementary and junior high schools in Nagahama City and Maibara City may enter the Museum free of charge.

※ Members of the Nagahama Castle History Museum Friendship Association may visit the Museum free of charge as often as they wish during their membership period.

◆When you wish to apply for an admission fee reduction or exemption
Use this application form to apply for a reduction or exemption of admission fees.

※Applications are accepted in the following cases.

①Elementary and junior high school students from Nagahama City and Maibara City, as well as the teachers accompanying them, who visit the Museum as part of their educational activities. For details, please check the “Admission Fee Exemption Guide” 

②Whenever the Museum deems necessary.
