Use of the Seminar Rooms and Tea Room

The seminar rooms on the basement level and the tea room on the 4th floor of the Museum building are generally available for lectures, seminars, and research meetings that contribute to the promotion of education, science, and culture. A fee will be charged, and these facilities are only available when not in use for programs sponsored by the Museum or the Friendship Association.

*Use of these rooms will not be approved for any commercial purposes. The rooms are not available for activities involving eating or drinking, musical performances, or theatrical presentations.

Notices

1. Fees are in units of one hour, and any fraction of less than one hour will be rounded up to the nearest hour. (E.g., 1 hour and 15 minutes of use is regarded as 2 hours of use.)

2. The fee for use of these facilities, outside the open hours of the Museum (9:00-17:00), will be 150% of the fee charged for use during regular hours.

3. We require that the organizer of the event is clearly identified. Therefore, please include a flyer or other identifying material, along with the event request you submit, stating the purpose, event contents and the organizer's name and address.

4. Set-up and clean-up time is also included as part of the total usage time charged for.

5. The user is responsible for setting up and taking down all materials used at the venue.

□Precautions about use

Please follow the instructions of the Museum staff regarding the use of the venue.

Eating, drinking, fund-raising, and sales are not allowed within these premises.

No shoes!Please wear the slippers provided. 
     (In 2022 we instituted a rule against the wearing of shoes in these spaces.)

Barrier-Free Access

■ There is a wheelchair-accessible elevator in the center of the building. It can be used to reach the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors.

■ There is one wheelchair lift at the entrance.

■ There is one barrier-free toilet on the first floor.

■ Three wheelchairs are available for use. No reservation is required, and use is free of charge.

■ Specially-designated parking spaces are available for the disabled and those with reduced mobility. 

Please contact the Museum staff to make use of one of these spaces.

(These barrier-free parking spaces are not accessible by large buses. If your group is arriving at the Museum in a large bus, 

please direct the driver to park it in the Hou Park Parking Lot (2,000 yen per day))
