Documents of Idomura
A group of ancient documents of 65 pieces passed down to the Idomura family, who were local influential people (jizamurai) in Minoura-mura, Sakata-gun, Omi-no-Kuni (current Minoura, Maibara City). The oldest document is a sale deed of a rice paddy in 1362. The group of ancient documents also includes a precious document detailing a transfer of land to Idomura from Azai Hisamasa, the second head of the Azai clan, sengoku warlords. These are important materials which we can get to know village-bonded society from the medieval to early modern Japan.
